Yesterday, I was craving black beans, so I decided to stop by to check out this event. I left home thinking of staying couple of hours, I ended up staying for 5.
I was in Brazil this last month and that’s why my blog was a little bit quite, but now I’m back! And this post is dedicated to Easter time!

International Women’s Day is celebrated today, 8 of March, a day to remember the women’s economic, political and social achievements.
Women have achieved a lot in such a short period of time. They were always known as the “fragile sex”, but today women showed they are strong, being as capable as men in professional fields and also taking care of the house and family duties.
I wrote about the outdoors cinema next to the Olympic Park the other day (‘Movies by the Boulevard’). Now it is time for the Brazilian cinema to be a part of these events happening around Sydney during summer time.
This Saturday, 3rd of March, there will be happening the Brazilian Festa, at North Sydney Oval. The main film of the night will be Lixo Extraordinario – Waste Land at 8pm.

Carnaval is comiiiing!
From 18th to 21st of February is Carnival in Brazil! It means the party atmosphere is all over the country, wherever you are, during these 4 days!
Carnaval from Rio and Salvador are the biggest in Brazil and the most popular among the foreigners. I have been in both and they are really awesome!
The most romantic date of the year is coming up! The 14th of February is Valentine’s day,the day that honors the bishop Valentine who fought in favor of marriage in a time where it was prohibited by the Imperator, because he believed that singles were better soldiers.
In Brazil, however, the date is celebrated on 12th of June and we call it Girlfriend/Boyfriend’s Day (Dia dos Namorados). It is the day before Saint Anthony’s day, known there as the marriage saint.
